The youth was backboarded and collared, which is standard procedure, and taken to UMMC. She complained of upper back pain, but was not seriously injured. After flipping her car and landing in a ravine, she's pretty lucky.

My daughter who was miraculously uninjured. And thanks to the Pavilion Fire Department, Mercy EMS and especially to the NYS Troopers who were so kind to her. And thank God she walked away from what should have been a tragedy.

Exactly Beth. Every single one of them treated her with such kindness and respect, it was a beautiful thing to see. And sorry, I forgot to thank Rob, whose last name I didn't catch, who stopped when she flagged him down and let her use his cell phone because she couldn't find her's in the overturned car. And who waited with her until her father and I got there. And the lady in the house on the corner who let her sit on her porch and gave her an ice pack. Amazing that so many people came out of the woodwork to be kind and loving to a stranger.

You find a lot of that in small communities. I remember I slid on ice once and ended up in a field off Dublin Road in Byron and EVERYONE stopped, including a school bus full of kids.
