Three students named to SUNY Morrisville dean's list

SUNY Morrisville recently announced those students who were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2023 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a 3.0 to 3.99 grade-point average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

Zachery Greer named to UM fall 2023 dean's honor roll

Zachery Greer, of East Bethany, was named to the University of Mississippi's Fall 2023 Honor Roll list.

Greer, majoring in Criminal Justice, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.

In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

 

Leah Filter named to University of Alabama fall 2023 dean's list

Leah Filter of Corfu was named to The University of Alabama Deans List for the fall semester of 2023.

A total of 13,950 students enrolled during the fall semester 2023 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean's list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president's list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). These driven students are making waves across UA's more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.

Le Roy resident named to James Madison University president's list

Ellie Dambra of Le Roy has been named to the president's list at James Madison University for the fall 2023 semester. 

Students who earn president's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.900 or above. Dambra is majoring in Public Administration - BS.

Bergen's Chambry named to fall 2023 dean's list at Mount Union

The University of Mount Union has announced that Zoey Chambry, of Bergen, has been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester.

Chambry was one of 700 students named to the Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of traditionally graded coursework while achieving a grade point average of 3.550 or better with no letter grade below a B.

Ryan Dillon named to University at Buffalo's fall 2023 dean's list

Ryan Dillon of Batavia was named to the Dean's List honors from the University at Buffalo for the fall 2023 semester. Dillon is studying for his Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

To qualify for the Dean's List at UB, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Nazareth University announces students on the dean's list for fall 2023

Nazareth University proudly announces the students named to the Dean's List for fall 2023.

A student's grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester to be included on the dean's list at Nazareth.

Alexander Dean named to Commonwealth University's fall 2023 dean's list

Alexander Dean, of Bergen, has been named to the Commonwealth University Dean's List for the Fall 2023 semester. 

Dean is a student at the Mansfield campus.

The list, prepared at the end of each semester, recognizes those students who have achieved academic distinction. To qualify for the Dean's List, the student must have earned a GPA of at least 3.50, on a 4.0 scale, in 12 or more semester hours of letter grades.

Noah Pickard named to SUNY Oneonta's fall 2023 dean's list

Noah Pickard of Batavia was one of more than 1,200 SUNY Oneonta students who earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2023 semester. Pickard is studying Dietetics at SUNY Oneonta.

To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Nate Yauchzee of Le Roy named to SUNY Potsdam president's list

Nate Yauchzee of Le Roy was recently named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam.

Yauchzee, majoring in Music Business, was among 809 students honored for academic excellence in the Fall 2023 semester. SUNY Potsdam President Dr. Suzanne Smith recognized the students for earning top marks.

To be on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Funeral Home with locations in Batavia, Bergen, Oakfield, Warsaw, Perry, and Attica was one of only 104 funeral homes from throughout the U.S. and around the world honored with the 2023 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Pursuit of Excellence Award, placing it among an elite group of funeral service professionals. 

Pursuit of Excellence Award recipients raise the bar on funeral service excellence by adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards and providing unsurpassed service to families and communities.

To earn an NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award, a participating funeral home must meet or exceed business standards set forth by the program and demonstrate proficiency in key areas of funeral service, such as compliance with state and federal regulations; providing ongoing education and professional development opportunities for staff; offering outstanding programs and resources to bereaved families; maintaining an active level of involvement within the community; participating and actively serving in the funeral service profession; and promoting funeral home services through a variety of marketing, advertising and public relations programs. Participants are also required to adhere to a Pledge of Ethical Practices.

“This year’s Pursuit of Excellence honorees are a truly exceptional group. Not only are they serving grieving families with dignity and compassion, but they are finding meaningful ways to support and give back to the community,” said NFDA Director of Public Relations Jessica Koth, who manages the Pursuit of Excellence Award program.

SUNY Cortland announces Fall 2023 president's list

A total of 814 SUNY Cortland students earned President's List honors for the Fall 2023 semester. To qualify for the President's List, students must earn a grade of A- or better in each of their classes while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

SUNY Canton announces part-time honors for Fall 2023

The college created Part-Time Honors to recognize students who earned at least a 3.25 GPA in 6 to 11 credit hours of coursework. It stands alongside the college's Dean's List and President's List as one of the top awards given for academic success during a single semester.

Molly Simms earns president's list honors at SUNY Canton

Colby Leggo has been named a Presidential Scholar at Clarkson University

Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade-point average and carry at least 14 credit hours.

Matthew Sheffield named to SNHU dean's list

Matthew Sheffield of Pavilion has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's Fall 2023 Dean's List. The fall terms run from September to December.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

GCC welcomes former Batavia Police Sgt. Daniel Coffey as director of campus safety

Genesee Community College proudly announces the swearing-in of Daniel Coffey as the new Director of Campus Safety. The official ceremony took place on Monday, Jan. 8, marking the commencement of Coffey's tenure in this crucial leadership role.

Dan brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in law enforcement and emergency services to Genesee Community College. Serving with the Batavia Police Department since 2003, Coffey has consistently demonstrated excellence and leadership in various capacities. Notably, he was promoted to Sergeant in 2012. His exceptional contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Kiwanis Criminal Justice Award in 2018 and the Meritorious Service Award in 2016, further highlighting his commitment to public safety and community service.

In addition to his commendable service with the Batavia Police Department, Coffey has been an active member of the Town of Batavia Fire Department, Inc. since 2001. His dedication to the community is evident through his five years of service as Fire Chief, where he also held roles as Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief Captain and Lieutenant. In 2004, Coffey received the Chief's Award, a testament to his outstanding contributions to the fire department.

Genesee Community College is confident that Coffey's extensive background in law enforcement, emergency services, and leadership roles will greatly enhance the safety and security measures on our campus. We look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring to our college community.

Upon his swearing-in, Coffey shared his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "I am honored and excited to join the Genesee Community College team as the Director of Campus Safety. My experience in law enforcement and emergency services has prepared me well for this position, and I am eager to contribute to the safety and well-being of the college community."
